Thread Starter | Mixing - Signal Path - Advice please Hello, I'd like to incorporate a Hammer EQ into my setup. I requested some advice from the store where I usually buy my stuff and the setup seems to be somewhat complicated. I thought that this forum is a good place to ask for advice, so here goes: Current setup Mbox 2 Pro RME ADI-2 Summit 2BA-221 Summit TLA-50 Vintech X73i API 525 (in the 500HR rack) API 560 (") Mackie HM54 Nano Patch Passive volume control Adam A7's PT v7.4 All this HW is patched in a Neutrik patch bay. I want to insert the Hammer EQ in this setup for mixing/tracking purposes. The tricky part is to get the RME converter in the signal path including the Hammer. I connect the Mbox to the RME via S/PDIF. The XLR outs from the RME go to the NanoPatch and from there to the A7's. The 1/4" outs from the RME go to the Mackie HM54. One recommendation was to get a CD recorder ala Tascam/Fostex/HHB in order to simplify the setup but this would add at least another 500-1K bucks to the overall purchase tag. Any feedback on how to insert the Hammer in my setup would be greatly appreciated. Please consider that I'd like to monitor my mixes once the Hammer is inserted (which I think complicates the signal path setup). Thanks again for your help. ![]() |

| this is what patchbays are for. get your rme ins & outs wired up, ditto the hammer i/o and nanopatch ins. when tracking, patch pre to comp to hammer to rme to nano, monitor front end thru software. when mixing, patch rme to hammer, mult hammer to rme & nano. simple. if you track more than you mix, normal the front end together, normal the hammer out to rme in, and normal rme out to nano. if you mix more than you track, normal rme out to hammer in and normal hammer out to nano in. gregoire del ubk . |
