Placing subs just below nearfields ?

I was thinking of those Barefoots having dual subs integrated. So they are near earheight giving wide and deep bass extension.

Would it be possible to have something similar like having for example 2 Sub6 subs just placed under each nearfield being Focal Solos or even Twins ?

Of course this would not be like the Barefoots time aligned subwoofers so image nor bass might not be as tight...

Thoughts?

basicaly after about researching this for a few days straight ive come to think ...
its mains or not...no exceptions...nearfields and good treatment....save you cash for the mains and dont look back...and depending on your particular situation yes subs are beter placed very lose to the nearfields but with 5 or so feet from the listening position...to give a clearer sense of depth...but in most cases ...if youve got 2500 squarefeet get the mains...there is a rising industry here its rele hard do discern fact from fiction.
