Peluso dealer/retailer for Canada? Or should I order from the US?

I'm about to purchase a Peluso VTB. I live in BC, Canada.

CANADIAN AUDIO DISTRIBUTORS

That's the only place I found that seems to have the Peluso stuff.

As are most people, I'm always down to save a buck.
That place wants $1270 plus shipping.

Could I not do a little better?

Anyone order something like this over the boarder, what am I looking to get hit for as far as duty/shipping/hidden fees, etc.?

Also, how is delicate audio gear shipped? Are they just gonna stick a "FRAGILE" sticker on it and FedEx it? That's really okay?

Thanks for the tips, guys.

They'll charge you GST on anything you bring across, sometimes duty too. If its shipped UPS then you also have to pay a customs brokerage fee through them.

Unless its a $3-400+ difference, I would just get it up here.

Hi,

I'm said Canadian dealer... shipping is included with all our mics... we package them very thoroughly and normally ship via UPS with whom we've had the best luck. If it doesn't make it alive we'll fix it.

Since you're in BC (I think?) you'd pay GST only. Our prices are at parity with US dealers, except the Canadian Dollar is a little weaker right now, so it's likely a deal.

Hope that answers your concerns!

Thanks!
Bob

I'm just looking around right now on the web, and also taking into consideration your comments.

It would appear that ordering from Canadian Audio Distributors is my best interest.

Thanks guys.

I think you'll be getting my order next week Bob!!

I bought a Peluso capsule from C.A.D. and the service/shipping was great. I think I ordered it Friday night and had it by Tuesday morning :)

Apex 460 mod (peluso capsule, etc)

Regarding the Apex 460 mod ...

Anyone here want to do that work for a reasonable fee? (not just the capsule, the whole CAD package as well)

It's my thread, and I think the initial discussion has completed its cycle.

Btw, I'm glad u kept your comment short. It would be hard to understand a whole paragraph typed like that.
