| Gear Head | what EQ in pre and/or post on a tracking signal chain?
Hi i'm building up my custom instrument and voice tracking channel strip: as comp/lim pre-amp I started getting a nice one: the UA LA160SE, it sounds great and stuff.. but it is not really enough and i need something to colorize the tone in pre or post while tracking, i have on option these: -Chandler Limited Tone Control EQ Germanium -Tube Tech ME1B they are approximately in the same price range, ive read a lot of good a bit everywhere about the tone control EQ i think it appears to be more versatile and musical than the ME1B, especially when it concerns at properly tracking electric guitars, basses and as well miked acoustic guitars and voice. But i have never got an opportunity to listen and/or compare them. is there any other analog EQ / tone tweaker i should look at? maybe some hardware from neve ? staying in the same price range as the me1b and germanium thanks |
