Has anybody tried Wunder CM7 GT in other applications than vocal? I want to order this mic and i hope it will be serving good as mono drums overhead.....(of course vocal is my main target)

Combined with a Chandler TG Channel MKII would you opt for the K47 or the M7?

Thanks for any ideas.

With the Chandler, I would go for the M7

I don't see how you could answer based on just this much info. What type of source will you be recording? Makes a difference on the choice.

I decided to grab the K47 and I use it with a Chandler. Very happy. I primarily record male vox and acoustic guitar with the CM7 (although I typically use a Neve).

It all depends on the vocalist, but since the Chandler is pronounced in the mids, I would think the M7 with less at 5k might be a little better fit...Actually, you're right - it really all depends on the voice...

Sorry, you are so right, I completely forgot to mention. It is mainly for recording vocals (male vocal, tenor range, husky at times but fairly well defined and female vocal rather soft and in the lower soprano range) and sometimes acoustic guitar (Larrivee D10).

Cheers, and thanks again.

Well, after an absurdly long period of debating the K47 and M7 options I ultimately decided to go with the K47 cap.

I have no way to compare this mic to the CM7-GT with the M7 capsule but I can say for sure that the K47 version stands on its own as an unbelievable microphone: 3D, warm, detailed, smooth tone for days. It is just beautiful sounding. I haven't yet had a really great singer in but even with just the "pretty good" voices that have been tracked through it so far the results have been nothing short of magical. Running this mic through a LaChapell 583 is simply game over for me on vocals.

I cannot speak highly enough of this mic!
