Raidohead - In Rainbows - Production questions

Can anybody that knows more about this band and their most recent release "In Rainbows" possibly shed some light on who produced it and possibly what they used in terms of equipment.

Thank you in advance.

Hey man,

I worked at studio where In Rainbows was mixed, and was around during the mixing of it. And in fact, large parts of In Rainbows was mixed in the same room as OK Computer.

So just wanted to add that the reverb used on House Of Cards most likely is an EMT 250 plate, or an BX 10 Spring Reverb, which are the two main reverb sources at the studio.

Cheers,

/T

Apparently a lot of the ambience and reverb was done at Totenham House in Wiltshire. The whole of body snatchers was recorded there as well, if the stuff I was reading was correct.

This is literally 2 minutes from my family home, and we sneak into the grounds, we later found that one of our visits was at the time of their recording, which was very cool for me when I found out.

If anyone is up for the mission of getting sneaking there then I'm always up for it. Know some secret routes into the grounds, but not into the big building, though I have no doubt we can find a way in somewhere... we'll see, it's 'abandoned' but in waiting to be converted into a huge golf club, which may have started already!

Extra trivia - an East 17 video was filmed there.

The whole area and the forest it resides in is so full of rich history. Lots to do with Henry VIII and Jane Seymour as well.

Isn't Radiohead the band that had that big hit with "creep" a few years back? What have they been up to since then? Is this "rainbows" record a comeback of sorts? Haven't heard much from them since that big hit "creep". I guess if people are nostalgic for that era this comeback thing might work... but what have they been doing in the meantime, one wonders. Working day jobs I bet.

It's entirely plausible for his post to be genuine. I just couldn't believe it (if it was)....

I think there should possibly be a law on "/sarcasm" tags whenever it's not 100% clear - then again, maybe it just wasn't 100% clear to me? I read it at 4am

Do you mean EMT plat 140?
The 250 is an early digital reverb which looks like a Dalek...

that makes sence...it's a pretty simple pop record (just an incredibly beautiful one!) so they would have had no real trouble living without a computer.....sounds like they used a couple loops in a few places but otherwise it's very organic.

those 7 second reverbs just suit thom's falsetto warbling so well and they leave the space for it which allows his vox to really soar........i love this record (sigh).

Radiohead uses logic very heavily. It may have been mixed using protools, but it was more than likely recorded and composed with logic.

possibly but when i was at their studio i saw people using mbox's and they had pro tools on the main machine connected to their Toft desk. when i asked Ed about logic he didn't really have much to say about it - i use logic so was trying to find out if they used it but it didn't come across like that they do.

they didn't mix it on pro tools, it was mixed on the Toft
