Thread Starter | Which RMG tape? I am curious which tape sounds more 70ish. As far as I'm concerned there has never been any better sounding music. The band Boston is the sound I like the best. Tape compression is definitely part of that sound and that is the kind of tape I am looking for. Tom Scholz from the band says that he likes Scotch 226 the best, and that the heavy tape saturation is part of his sound. I believe he must have used 206 on the first Boston record, because I don't think 226 was out yet. |

| Not really the same, but 911 would be the closest RMG tape to 226. Don't underestimate the use of Dolby A in the 70s. |
