| Lives for gear | Tim just sent these pics over, he has just now completed the production prototype of the new Juggernaut Twin, which is the stereo rack version of the Juggernaut preamp with additional features. He said the blue around the logo and around the modules is more mellow than the pic is showing. ![]() ![]() |

| Jeez Nathan, that's looking incredible! It looks so damn simple to operate, yet so damn versatile for a huge variety of uses. I've never had the opportunity to mess around with the input impedance of a single gear. It'll be interesting to say the least! Having never tried a Juggernaut, I have no idea how it'll sound but I'm looking forward to giving it a go this year, at the bare least for the sake of learning how each mic handles amplification through different ohm and different trannies. Looking forward to it. |

| Lives for gear | Thanks guys, the kind words are VERY appreciated. thumbsupthumbsupthumbsupthumbsup If the metalworker did the screenprinting correctly, the writing is also supposed to glow in the dark. We thought that might put it over the top visually. ![]() |

| Wonderful piece of gear there. However, the initial post had the Juggernaut much louder than the others. Still sounds the balls though. |

| Lives for gear | It was a team effort between myself, my wife Brijitte (who is also my business partner) and Tim Farrant. The Juggernaut 500 was the starting place visually, but with more physical room on the faceplate we could add a bit more. |

![]() Seriously, that is one cool unit. I have the 500 series and love it, esp. for vocals and guitar. Its my go to unit for voice overs coupled with a Peluso 2247.

One of the things that attracts me to a unit like this is the versitility of it. It's not a one trick pony so you get multiple sounds out of the unit. Not to mention, from the photos the quality of the unit is on par with the best. Seems like a magazine or two should be writing a review on this unit. ![]()

| Lives for gear | We received the Juggernaut Twin safely yesterday from New Zealand. It looks even more impressive in person. Weighs a whopping 13 lbs (close to 6 kg)! I'll be doing some thorough testing over the next week, so I think things are still on track for early June release. |

It's your choice as to where to buy from. There is no one in Australia at the moment, but we have two dealers in New Zealand if that's helpful (Buzz Audio or Oceania Audio). Or you can can order from us here in the US if that's preferred.

| Tell us about the "fat" button. What does that engage? |

| Lives for gear | It's an EQ that uses a choke (i.e. inductor) that is set to boost lows and gently subdue the high mids a bit. It definitely adds some color in addition to changing the frequency curve. In my tests it's gone a ways to making my TLM103 have a closer vibe to my older FET Neumanns (i.e. more thick and mellow on the more modern version). Tim explains further here: "To expand on the FAT function, this actually is a passive circuit that uses the reactance of a choke along with the inductance of the output transformer to acheive a subtle effect of increased low end and reduced midrange. It will be useful in taming some of the mid heavy mics around as well as adding a bit more weight in bass applications, kick, bass etc..." |

| I just demoed one and it seriously rocks! will tell everybody how cool it is. Coolest preamp I have ever used. I was messing around for a few nights with different mics, guitars etc. trying to get the right acoustic sound. I fanally found it! the Jugg on nickel in Iron out with an SM 57 thru my 2-1176. kind of slightly driven Between the input load, THD, boost, and nickel and iron transformers there is so much variety with this thing. but it's not confusing. I know I woke up an old thread, but damn! I got to get one somedayLast edited by audionickw; 24th June 2009 at 06:21 PM.. Reason: blow my cover |

| Lives for gear | We're on schedule - they are being shipped early next week from New Zealand to us here in Florida and they'll ship to customers within 24 hours of receiving them. There are still a couple left from the first batch, after that probably 3 weeks for more to come in. |
