Update on this. We are in the process of being on the way to the prototype for the 1ru 19" 2 channel rack version of the Juggernaut. It will have both input transfomers switchable on the front just like the 500 series version, and will also have the output transformers switchable via pushbutton on the front panel. IF all goes as planned it will have parallel outputs (for sending signal to different processing, i.e. one to a comp and the other no comp. Or one for the recorder and one for the front of house, or one for no latency recording and the other for the multitrack). Also we are going to attempt to have a proper +4 line level input with correct impedance so you can run entire mixes or tracks into the Juggernaut for coloration purposes, not sure if this exact feature will happen. Stay tuned.

I was thinking of picking up a 500HR and a pair of Juggernauts but now I think I'll wait for the rack version. Any estimate release date nathan?

Difficult to say...Tim works very efficiently compared to most designer/manufacturers, but even then I'd say January '09. The design itself is finished, because it IS a Juggernaut, so it's just features and format being the difference. Best case December of this year, worst case late February '09 most likely. Metal work from time of approval of prototype takes 7 weeks. Individual one off boards for prototype take the initial 7 weeks, so 16-22 weeks is realistic.

Yeah, really stressful actually. I used to ignore it all in my 20's, now I can't stop reading.

Thanks Todd, we are making it a priority over our 500 series opto comp so it comes out sooner. A lot of people have indicated they'd like the Juggernaut in a 19" rack format.

Unfortunately not, too many local meetings during the same time. We're hoping to be in NY next year though.

Andy Hong just did review of the Juggernaut in the new issue of Tape Op (since a few people have asked us about a mag review). Thanks.

It would be nice if the rack version could permanently have the nickel and steel in there with just a switch to change between them, rather than having to go in there and replacing manually. That's certainly what would make me want to go for the rack instead of the 500 series.
Any plans on doing that?

It's nickel and iron and that's exactly what they will be doing thumbsup

Pheelthemusic is correct, the rack version of the Juggernaut will have front panel switchable input AND output transformers, along with some other additional features that a single slot 500 series wouldn't have the physical room for, that a full 19" unit will. Just to avoid confusion for anyone reading this, the Juggernaut 500 series module does allow switching on the input transformers. We are currently including the additional nickel output transformer (comes stock with the iron core output) for free, which is the one being referred to that needs to be switched manually (takes just a couple minutes or less). There wasn't physical room for the 4th transformer or an additional pushbutton switch on the 500 module unless we went to a double width.

I just lent my Juggies to a friend in Maine (only because I'm doing studio construction) and they are getting great reviews... If you haven't had a chance to try these yet.. DO IT! Especially with the special price!

Probably late March at this point. The metal work company didn't do what they promised so it delayed everything 4-6 weeks.

Just finished recording some electric guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals, and even banjo on the juggs. Very happy with the results, and thrilled with the versatility. Nice thing for us about having two of the 500 series units is they can be split up, which for us is a huge plus. Iron out for electric and banjo, Nickel out for vocals and acoustic. Great sound. Nice work Nathan and Tim.

Not sure at this point, but it will be competitive. We need to get closer to the production run to finalize prices.
