Thread Starter | ISA 428 VU-meters
Just got my self an ISA 428...quite nice bang for the buck and compliments my 3124+ nicely... However, while VU-meters 1 and 3 is mounted firmly, VU-meters 2 and 4 has a slightly more loosely mounting to them making it possible to "move them a bit around" whem pressing my fingers to the glass covering the meters.... are all 428's like this or is it just mine? May not be a big deal, but when I buy something new I expect it to be in best possible condition... |

Yep, some of mine move around too. I would never have found this, I usually don't go pushing on them As you know, the 428 gets pretty warm (class A operation), I expect they need to allow some clearance for thermal expansion/contraction.I had a Millennia Media TD-1 for a while, it had loose knobs, crooked knobs, wobbly connectors, etc. And is considered "world class"... I'm not worried about the meters. Like you I love the sound, I'd use mine even if it was in some scroungy old lunchbox like some "vintage" preamps <g> Steve |
