TAB Funkenwerk order delay -Is this normal?

Hello.

I've ordered a pair of TAB Funkenwerk's DIs 4 months ago from their German dealer - the closest dealer to Bucharest I could find.
After many emails, they got back with a response, claiming that the manufacturer had to move all the production in another state - saw this on the TAB F. website too. But 4 motnhs seems a bit long now and I just want know any of your experiences with this guys - should I wait or just go cancel that order?I haven't seen any negative feedback since now for TAB Funkenwerk and all of these seems a bit odd.

Thanks.

Hello Boby,

since the beginning of this company, that is mainly me plus two helping hands, our product is mostly backordered due to its custom nature, we make everything in house from scratch even the tooling for our machinery. I do not want to rush out product just because we have more orders than we can handle, if people do not want, or can not wait there is a wide variety of products out there. Sorry if that sounds arrogant, but small manufacturing is quite a challenge.

Aside the move from Seattle to Kansas, that took approx. 5 month, I had to go into emergency surgery for a heart valve replacement. Due to the fact that I can not find anybody (for about 6 years) that has the talent to work on the new as well as the historic stuff, I closed the company for my time staying in the hospital and the recovery time. Most of the products are on hold, everything we are currently make is the V71DI and the V78M. The V72 and V76 production will start around mid of August.

We just shipped an order to our german distributor we had some minor problems with shipping logistic to Europe since we moved, but everything is getting back slowly to normal. In any way you can order 230V units from http://www.mercenary.com/ they ship world wide, talk to Fletcher or Jay.

Best regards,

Oliver

Hi Oliver

Hope the recovery is going well, just take it easy....

I too have been waiting for a DI box but as Oliver says things are getting back to normal and my DI box should be here tomorrow after being tested by Mercenary for UK power. I can't wait !!!!

Speak to Samara or Fletcher at Mercenary they'll give you the bottom line on lead times and won't mess you about, they are the business and the TAB product is pure quality from start to finish, worth the wait in my book.

Nice work Oliver, keep it up and all the best

DD

I just got in my V672's that I sent in to TAB for custom racking and rebuilding. The total turnaround time was approximately 4 months from the time I sent in the modules. The 672's sound great, and Oliver did a very fine job on the unit.

Timewise, you're about at the same point I was in waiting for your shipment. The only beef I can claim with my dealing with TAB was that I had been originally told in early correspondence that the turnaround time would be approximately a few weeks, which turned into 4 months. Not that it was a biggie, but it was frustrating being given a certain time expectation and then getting delivery much later than originally promised. However, the work itself was well done and everything worked out.

Sarcastically,
Buddhaman

PS...Oliver..I hope you are feeling as well as humanly possible.

LOL! But in all fairness, I was told Oliver was yet to go in for surgery when I called TAB after 3 months, so that didn't have anything to do with the previous 3 month wait, when I had been told 2-3 weeks for turnaround in the beginning.

Regardless, all's well that ends well, so I have no complaints, and I wished Oliver a speedy recovery and wish him well now, and give thanks for a job well done.

thnx 4 clearing out

Mr. Oliver,

It's sad to read about your illness here and hope to get through this well.

I will call up your german distributor again, to see if they got my order now.

Thank you for clarifying all this.
