Killer combo for vox including Tube-Tech MP1-A pre?

I got lucky and aquired me an MP1-A pre, but the mics I've tried for it so far sounds a little too over the top "tubey". I've tried a Manley tube mic amongst others of lesser quality.

So what kind of killer mics would you guys recommend for cutting-edge and well defined vox through the MP1-A? I'm thinking they'll be warm whatever I do because of the color of the pre, but any experience in picking mics for it is greatly appreciated.

It'll primarily be used for tracking big male rap vocals.
