Royer 122 I have ISA 428 & Avalon 737; I was testing my new 122 and I had to get the volume right up to get vocals... I just brought API lunchbox; what do you recommend will work nicely with the mic? Thanks

Aah.. the 122! I just love ribbons! I've got a pair of 121's.. they're nice on drums, overhead, hihat, ride, snare, room.. just anything.. Percussion, bongos, shakers, tambourines.. Acoustic guitars! Really nice.. together with a LDC! Electric guitars.. close or room.. Brass, keys, strings.. Try it on anything.. you can never go wrong with the ribbon sound.. play around with the backside aswell.. and flip the phase.. Edit: Or did you mean pre's? haha..

Any pre will work fine with 122. 121 requires 1500 ohm loading impedance by the preamp. My Pacifica failed with 121 but sounded fantastic with 122V.
