Advice needed

A very tempting and confusing situation... I posted here before regarding a Sphere console that keeps popping up...or rather it has been offered to me a number of times. The deal might go through depending on how willing is the seller to let go of it, and his willingness seems to change with the weather!!! The Sphere is an Eclipse A 32X24X2 with full TRS patchbay. Now space is premium here at my studio so here's the question. Do you think it would be wise to buy it and take it apart? I'm thinking I could get a 32 input summing box out of it as the back end for my PT system + I would have 32 pres and 32 Eqs all racked up and ready to go if I'll ever need to move. All that for about 10K plus the racking expenses. Do you think it's worth the trouble or am I wasting my time? I could even sell half of the Pres and EQS (9 band graphic)Thanks in advance for your input.

summing with external mixer.

I'm leaning towards nay for reasons of costly maintenance and limited space, however the sound from summing external also forces you to purchase costly DA convertors to receive the benefits. A high investment for your recording studios with a minimal increase in audio character. However, for sheer visual appeal, you can't go pass a big fat mixer to spruce up your studio. e. peace.
