Brauner VM1A...what is the vintage setting "emulating" ?

I've been wondering what the "vintage" setting on the VM1A is designed to emulate. While I'm deeply interested in the VM1, if I already have the C12 and U47 bases covered, is the VM1A essentially an attempt to re-tread the response to emulate a classic? If so, which classic is the target, or should this be judged as simply a different flavor altogether? Thanks for guidance.

It doesn't sound like a U47 or C12. It sounds awesome though. Love mine!

Syra,

Thanks for the info. Any thoughts on a comparison? _What_ does it sound close to? Anything?

Hi Kyle!

The VMA doesn't emulate any special vintage microphone. Its an own outstanding sound charakter you can not compare with any mic.

While the VM1 sounds really modern, clear and transparent many people asked Brauner for something with a more soft/silky top-end, or more "vintage" sound, so the Brauner guys developed the VMA in cooperation with some very famous engineers.

Let me know if you got further questions.

Regards

Kai
