I'd like to hear more about the little devil preamp! And what about the little devil preamp as a standard 1RU? Will it be dual or single? How about all little devil gear as 1RU! |

Does anybody try to use link sections in Germanium compressors pair as external side-chain (Distressors way)?

I love my pair of Germ Comps, but I can never hear a difference between linked and unlinked. I hadn't even considered trying to use these as an external side-chain. How would you go about this?

| Now it's just the idea, never tried it before but I will. I have Summit DCL-200 also and it has similar linking between left and right channels but I'm not sure though. Just use appropriate Y insert cable for each channel of Germ Comps and plug it to any external EQ. It could be a trick since linked channels in both units generate one control voltage for Threshold, Attack and Release. In any case it's worth to try. My Distressors pair works the analogous way but all functions must be set by hand.

LOVE the TG-2! My desert island pre.Like someone said, makes unmixed stuff sound like a record. Love the Curve Bender too and have been bugging Wade about making a cheaper version because I can't afford a ton of them. Would like to try the mixer but I'm afraid I would have to buy it...

I have a TG2 and love it too! 99.9% of the time it is used as make up gain for the Thermionic Culture Pullet EQ in the mastering chain: DAC Chandler Germanium Compresor x 2 Thermionic Culture Pullet EQ Chandler TG2 ADC It's a stunning sounding chain, full of colour (although can be cleaner than one may expect), but that's great for most of the work I get in. I love Chandler gear! I want a stereo mastering version of the Germ comps. BTW, I REALLY can't hear the link switch on the Germs Comps doing anything at all (and yes I have a cable connecting the two units, I have tried it with a balanced and an unbalanced cable), is there any test I could do to see if it is actually working? |

I have a pair of Germ Comps and use them alot during mix but almost never during tracking. Does anyone have good uses for them during tracking? I have a number of other things I use for tracking. Honestly the thing I love about the Germ comps is the tone so that is usually why i use them. more for sound vs compression. Make sense? I have a feeling they are getting under used.

The Mix knob seems to be where a lot of the tonal variations lay too.One thing I've found though (and maybe I need a much more aggessive vocal) is I haven't been able to really crush a vocal yet. Looking forward to trying it on guitar and bass though.

Love my Chandler's too. The TG2 is definitely my desert island pre, and my 2 Tone controls end up on every mix. Thanks for making such wonderful tools Wade!

Can anyone else comment on the Little Devil Pre. I am thinking about getting a pair and would like to hear your opinions?

I'm torn - I'm wanting a channel strip pre for my home to do vocal and guitar dubs after sessions for our next album (I'm a late night sort of guy) and I can't decide between the LTD-1 and the TG Channel. Can anyone weigh in who's tried both? I'd love any reports on what the differences are like between them in sound. |

There is a video of Wade at Messe 2010 talking about a redesign of the mixer. Anyone know if that is still in the works? We purchased one just this week, but I would love to have a Mini Mixer with direct outs.

I guess you could say that I'm a Chandlerholic: TG channel Germ Pre Tone Control TG-1 (that's for my home studio - the main studio I work at has a TG-2 and 2xLTD1's) I'd love to try the little devil mic pre - how does it fall tonally compared to the Germ Pre and the TG-2 pres? I'm at the point where I need to sell something to justify getting something new - will it make one of the above obsolete or just make me hungry to collect all the Chandler gear? Mini rack mixer if also on my list to try before final mixes of my album. |

Ante Up, now closed down, used to have a sick collection of Chandler gear. Practically everything from the line circa 2009 or so. Everything was mind blowing, easy to use, sounded great. Put it this way: Chandler gear is so great Rick Rubin could *almost* make a good sounding record using it. Almost.

first off, i am a big fan! i bought a zener limiter 3 years ago, my most expensive piece ever. at the moment i am a bit pissed off because it broke for the second time in four years (i really don't use it a lot), and my dealer told me there's no warranty anymore. so, i have to send it off and pay for all expenses made. pisses me off, 4000 euro machine. maybe throw in a couple of warranty years? jan |

Anyone ever experimented with summing with the mini mixer vs summing through something less colored and using the TG1 in THD mode on the mix bus to color to taste?
