A true gearslut wouldn't sell any of them, just get a bigger rack and a bigger console with more aux sends to run them...

I give in to the trollism here too.usually when I'm really tired.
life is too short.
Still lots of genuinely cool folks here.

Keep that 480L

I work for Lexicon and I'd say just keep that 480L... or if you really wanna sell it make sure you get plenty of money... theres just not many of them out there. That's the last great lexicon reverb That Dave G really designed himself (and he's they guy who pantented digital reverb in '71)... and even though its old now i don't think anything beats it.

It is a great product, it does lots of things well. When I was working on the Hollywood mixing rooms back in the 90's I did notice that both Warners and Paramount had 2 or 3 224XL's and 2 or 3 480L's at the 300 input mix stage. The foley and dialog guys grabbed and lived on the 480L's. The music mixers always grabbed the 224XL's, all 3 of them. They told me they didn't like the 480L for music, they prefered the 224XL as do I.

Then this Bricasti M7 comes along and it's a new game in town. I sold my 224XL with it's extensive refurb and mods to buy the Bricasti. This was after I played with the PCM96, which I believe is not a contender next to the M7, that's another class altogether. I don't think the PCM96 will be a marketing failure, it just won't do as well as if the M7 never came along. It's sad for me to think what happened to Lexicon, it seems to have lost it's soul. I still have my old 200 and others though. If I couldn't fix them I would be depressed.
Hey, bdlabs, how long will it be before the 480L is no longer serviced like the PCM 60, 70, 200, 224, 224X, 224XL, Prime Time, LXP's PCM41, PCM42, etc? There may be some 480L owners that may want to get a refurb on them before they are also no longer serviced. Got to keep these working.
