Anyone using the GR MEQ-1NV for dance/hip hop?

Hey all. Thinking about grabbing a Great River Eq. Here's my recording chain:

A6 Synth - Demeter DI - Demeter Pre - H7600 - Akai Z4

I mix on an 01V96. I love the board over all, but I do not care for the sound of the eq so much. So I was thinking of going with the GR to spruce up sounds from my synth and a couple of drum machines before conversion. Anyone have an opinion on this eq for this type of application?

The Great River EQ-1NV is an amazing character piece,

You can really shape and sculpt your tone, without creating any unmusical artifacts. The GR is simply wonderful for synth application where you may need some more presence and bottom while smoothing out the midrange on your samples/synth.

it also works really well for drum machines that need some more "crack" and "girth". I would highly recommend the GR EQ because of its surgical ability to craft and shape tone while achieving sonic purity. Pair the EQ with the Great River ME-1NV on the insert point, and you have an amazing pair for tracking and mixing, as you can use both together in a number of creative ways.

peace

Hey Mixwell,

Thanks for the response. How would you compare the Daking EQ section to the GR EQ? I've kinda been going back and forth between these two.

Peace
