someone locally says they have one, but I have never heard of one being white or cream colored. Any ideas?

I've never seen or heard of one, but that doesn't mean that it didn't exist. I know where there are a couple of blackfaced 1176's... which are royal blue.

Quote form current VintageKing inventory list:

Name: 160vu
Condition: Excellent

classic white VU metered 160vu... amazing on Kick, Snr, bass gtr's.... just the right attack and release... Nice to tap the kick/snr with before going to Protools, to get a little tape compression feel.. The best bass comp on the planet and suprisingly good on Vocals......Recapped, reconditioned, serviced to spec with a 6 month warranty. Priced per pair

But probably only the VUMeter is white, not the box.

The problem is when they are bred that way, often they are deaf. You take out all of the pigment and other problems arise.

Like white cats, they tend to ...oh jeez. What forum is this?
