Thread Starter | which compressor to add to the CL1B and the 5043. Maybe 1176 / MC77 ?
I would like to add a compressor to my equipment. I am working with Portico 5043, TT CL1B and the comp + limiter (which I really like) from the Manley Voxbox. I am looking for something which is a good supplement for tracking rock / pop / jazz music. I don´t want vintage and and don´t go for the smaller formats (500). I am considering either a UA 1176 reissue or a Purple MC77 (although I don´t like the colour) Can you please confirm if the 1176 / MC77 would be a good supplement to the compressors I already own. Is there one of them you prefer soundwise over the other ??? I am still not sure if I shall go first for an AEA R88 (ribbon mic) which I need as well ;-) |
