| dull together is it me or does the neumann u87 and a avalon 737 sound a little dull and need a bit of high end eq on it or is it because im recording flat and should cut some bass.

| I've always thought the U87 sounded dull. Going into the Avalon surely won't help. There will be a lot of posts after this praising the 87 and slagging the Avalon, but I've always found the 737 to be great with a brighter mic. I've never put the 87 up as anything other than a last resort/I don't care type of thing. Sure, it never sounds bad, but it never sounds great either.

| yeah i got it because i heard it was world class and i though that ment that it would sound like pro vocls and it did i was just thinking it sounded pro flat i had to boost as much as 5 db in hight like 8-12k area maybe some one knows a better mic.

| im not on the micing part of the game yet im just into vocls mostly nothing like some live gt though
