Ahhh no
Lets not create a science out of the obviouse.
We were trying out different mics to see what was the one.
We ended up picking the soundelux U95s.
Two differnt mics of the same performance is not doubling.
That s just to tones of one performance.

Sing it twice, thats doubling.
If you sing it three times thats tripling.
And so on.

OBVIOUSLY he ran his vox through a Fairchild 670, THEN into his tascam portastudio.
