pacifica and 500 series pacifica owners

So Ive been really digging the pacifica stuff Ive been hearing but seem to lean towards the stereo rack over the 500 series version. This is based solely off all the ENDLESS audio samples you diehard Pacifica owners have been posting! (Thanks by the way!)

But time and time again, I don't feel the love for the 500 series P1 ( I think thats the model). NOW- since audio clips mean nothing and Im NOT going to purchase anytime soon ( so no I won't BUY to TRY... ), I was wondering what those who actually USE both have to say. Or at least have tried both. Is there something to miss? And I know they are different flavors but if you had to choose ONE... Gun at your head, get a billion dollars if you choose BS theory, which one?

I ask because I am in debate of pining for a 500 series rack or a stereo rack mount instead. I LOVE the idea of the modular quality of a 500 series BUT constantly choose pres not in the 500 series ( I have a GML 8302 and 2 BAE 1073s). Unless I am mistaken and the P1 is not a 500 version of the Pacifica.
