Yep..

I have not found that the latency is that much of an issue.

I use the the Gold AD for tracking vocals and recording guitars and none of the artists i work with have ever commented or been affected by it.

We run ours at at 88.2 or 96k, for tracking, not mixing. The puppy's got some seriously latency. Sounds like the bee's knees though.

I used it for tracking bass when I first bought it and it messed with the players timing. With vox you hear the chorusing effect and it depends if the singer wants to deal with that -it can effect their pitch. I wouldn't use it for anything rhythmic...however if you want just set up a live feed for the player and mute the Lavery track. You can either mult the signal and run one direct through your normal converter in an always open aux or just use a second mic with same signal path.

What I noticed years ago when I first used my Gold and actually tracked a full song with it (every overdub) was how the song built up so much more nicely than with the apogee psx 100se I had been using. The song as a whole just sounded less "digital" -tracks had substance and beef and mixed nicely together. Really a great (though expensive) improvement to the sound.

By the way despite what I just said, I'll probably be selling mine soon if anyone is interested. I have a prototype unit a friend built that I like.

Yes, the unit is very finicky about that. In some cases you have to make sure it is properly terminated using a y splitter with a 75ohm term cap. They also will do a mod to the unit if necessary.

This is a very sensitive precision device. It has a start up routine to internally calibrate itself and if anything is slightly off it will go into error mode. Even with a perfectly functioning unit you sometimes have to power it up a few times before it decides it's happy with itself and will fully operate.

I have my Gold WC Out connected to a Big Ben, which in turn feeds WC Outs to two Digidesign 192 Digital I/O's. The 192's send digital signals (tracks) to my DAC's.

I have never had a syncing problem with the Big Ben, so it appears to work OK with Apogee.
