mic pre for voice over

Just wondering what mic pre you all like for the spoken word. Anyone have any experience on this one? What you like? I have a small summit right now....leaning toward an Avalon AD2022.
Thanks

I've had good luck with millenia pre's nice clean pre that captures spoken word very well. In general a "clean" sounding pre amp seems to be the choice for VO work and spoken word.

John Hardy

We specialize in Voice Over and have found the John Hardy Mic pre to be the best when you don't want to add color. It is extremely quiet, has lots of gain and always sounds great.

I agree with everybody. I've used my Great River because, well, that's all I have. It was fine.

Anthing will work but more important is the mic and the compression setting
make sure you have a good pop filter.

I wouldn't use a tube pre though. And whatever you do obviouly don't drive the gain on the pre
