Where to slut...

I am on the verge of picking up a Lavry 4496 and I have some questions on price?? I saw someone post here that they got it for $1350 someplace, that seems low to me but...???

Mercenary is GREAT to deal with, nice guys. I got my DAC-1 from them and the deal was fine BUT they are expensive in my eyes. (I am NOT flaming Fletcher and the boys)

I hate paying book price for anything and a couple $100s adds up with the amount of gear I own or plan on owning. Anyone have a recommendation on where else to look for the Lavry?? I can't even find another dealer besides Atlas.

Thanks.

sure the coupla hundred bucks add up, but i'd much rather do that and know i'm in good hands than hunting bottom price (double warranty from mercenary,etc..). for example i am demoing a pendulum es-8, api 2500, drawmer 1969 and have a cranesong stc-8 on the way from mercenary. the coupla extra bucks is way cheaper than buying the wrong thing (by being able to find out what suits your specific needs). discount houses can't/won't take care of you like that. oh well... ymmv.
sorry i wasn't any help...

Sometimes you need to pay a premium to order a bunch of gear and find out what works best for you. You are correct that this is actually cheaper in the long run. However, soometimes you know what you want and just want the best price.
