help me build a beginners mic locker w. $4000

I have been making sample based music for about 10 years now, and also do doubletime, engineering and mixing hiphop projects for friends. I have up until yesterday used Digital Performer/Motu Hardware with a Neotek 24-8, but have switched because all my friends have Digidesign stuff, making it a pain in the ass to translate sessions...[I dont really care which software I use to edit recordings...I'm really impartial...eventually I will get myself a nice analog recorder, but Ill wait until the digital revolution drives the price down a little more]

I don't really like the process of computer recording...more of a temporary evil until I can eventually get a real deck, which is why I have invested in a 002 and not a Mix system, I don't want to tie up huge sum of cash on something that I will eventually use as a paperweight.

My music is sample-based stuff, mostly instrumental...heavily influenced by the 70's Miles Davis fusion thing, Krautrock, Dub, Rock and folk recorings. I like nice open drums, growly (almost punk sounding bass)...and lush open keys. I have made records for sometime...I know how I like things to sound... and can generally get them sounding just how I like. I am to the point in my carreer where I am starting to worry about the possibility of getting nailed for samples, and I am finally confortable enough playing actual material that I feel I should just record source material myself. I have never needed a mic locker, which is my I am coming to some pro's with some experience, whenever I need to track vocals I just go rent a nice chain and a good old neumann.

Things I have in my possession:
API7600 Input Module
API 2500 Bus Compressor
Digi 002 Rack
Dynaudio BM6 Monitors
MPC2000xl (plus turntables and a shitload of great records).
and I have ordered a Rosetta 800 to take care of the conversion from my pre and sampler.
Mics I have:
Shure SM58 (all arounder...which I hate/love)
Sennheiser MD421 (for bass...which I like quite a bit with the API on this cab.)

Things I need to record (I don't have a band, but lets assume I might track Bass and Drums at the same time):

Raw Stereo Drum Tracks (a kick and 2 overheads kinda sound, think Shellac..).
Rickenbacker Bass Gtr through an Eden Cab, distorty (think Joy Division)
Rhodes/Wurlitzer, distorty though Fender Twin (think Miles, Live Evil)
Elect/Acoustic Gtrs (open classical style to John McLaughlin-esque)
Electronics/Sampler (direct or though the Fender Twin or Eden 210 Bass cab).

Things I am currently considering (used or new):
Soundelux Ifet47 to cover kicks or maybe the bass cab (at a distance) ($1500?) I could also use this for the few times I occasionally record vocals for rappers....
Pair of Josephsons for overheads ($900)
I'm thinking a ribbon of some sort to fill in the color gap (royer?) here and a KM184 for the gtr stuff.

Anyone suggest a better way to spend this cash?
For now I am going to just bounce the mixes in the box...

In the fall when I start to mix this stuff, I will build the rest of this API modular backend system with the Mastersection and some line cards to sum the Rosetta/002/MPC 8 outs/Turntables/Pres.

I greatly appreciate the weath of knowlege here, and would expect if anyone can, you guys can help out, with specific strenths for this setup.

in true gearsluts form, you may push over the limit if it will really make a huge difference.

A pair of Soundelux U195's, and a pair of AEA R84's. That should cover about 99% of it with the ability to record whatever you wish in stereo.

That's a really good suggestion.
