Waves plug-ins...any favorites?No bundles please.

BUNDLES OK...I know there's alot of love/hate for waves and plugs in general but putting that aside for a moment...Which Waves plugs do you get the most mileage out of?

...Thanks in advance

i initially bought the waves musicians bundle 2 and it gave me most of the effects i was missing from logic 7.

supertap
renaissance eq
renaissance comp
renaissance vox
doubler

really gives some amazing characterful plugs with true upwards expander and 6 tap supertap. double is amazing. i use an effect on the guitar, one side normal and the other side warbling in pitch variation and it's really good. doubler is the reason i initially bought the bundle

i know it's a bundle but a tiny one that has very useful plugs and at $150 it's a steal

For me it's definitely the renaissance compressor... very straightforward, nice sounding for a plug...

L2 and R-EQ do a lot to.

Kind regards from Belgium

I don't think Wave plug-ins suck, now I can say that some of there plug-ins do, but the company itself doesn't suck, Have you heard the SSL Eqs, or even played with the API bundle, if you haven't then you haven't heard some really nice new plug-ins from waves... Now don't get me wrong I don't entirely use waves plug-ins while mixing, but I do use them, I am not a fan of there eqs, only because I love Sonalksis, URS, and Triton Digital eqs... I love wanes Ren Comp, I use it a lot so +2 or +3 or whatever number were at for the Ren Comp

I don't use them anymore, but the Renn Comp was by far my favorite...although, the Mondo Mod had some "freak out" capabilities that were way ahead of the curve.

And in the interest of full disclsure, the reason I don't use Waves anymore is that I was never a legit user to begin with, and I'm not like that anymore...okay, got that out of the way. But when it was time to buy into a good set of plugin tools, I went UAD and never even really cosnidered Waves. I think Waves is wildly, wildly overpiced stuff...though there are times I miss them...

i use a ton of waves plugs. the ones that get the most use are

renaissance eq
renaissance comp
supertap delay

L2 is good on most stuff also.

I like their reverbs also - I have the IRL and it's pretty decent.

As for bundles, i also use the mastering bundle quite a bit.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the TransX plugs. I use them on every session.

I also use the RenEQ for surgical cuts. I don't like boosting with it too much.

RenComp is great.

RVox is aggressive and brings things up in the mix. I use it a lot.

That's about it though. The L2 and L3's blow.

The maxx bass and Rbass always sound cool, but I always seem to take them off of whatever they were doing by the time the final mix comes.

I don't own the SSL and API stuff, so I can't comment there.

to be honest: IR1 and doubler are nice. the rest i know is also okay! when it comes to eq and comp i like the urs stuff! did not try it! the rennaissance collection and the linear phase stuff is definately not bad. the L3 is a nice unit. the ssl collection of waves is good i was told. if i would have the right setup and money i would rather buy duende than the ssl collection. but that is a matter of taste! so far i have not heard pluggies as elegant and glossy as the duende stuff before!

RenDesser is the only Waves I use consistently.

Sometimes Q10 when I want a telephone effect

I have the platinum bundle but don't reach for it first, second, or third...

SSL all the way ! if you like the SSL sound taht is... Waves nailed the sound on this emulation. I compared the G comp and EQ to a 4000G+ board and the tone/character is there at 100%, no doubt. Now, dont get me wrong, it still a plugin, you'll have the sound but not it's size.

IR is great too.
