Which MRL tape to get: 15 or 30 IPS ???

I'm going to be using my 2" machine mostly for tracking grand piano, fat electric bass, electric dist. guitars, and drums. Musical style is more on the aggressive side -- definitely no jazz or easy listening here !!

I'm also probably going to transfer previous digitally recorded material to 2" just to fatten & warm up the tracks before dumping back to DAW for mixing. I would assume 30 IPS would be best for this ?

Audio Village says you can use same tape for both speeds with a conversion chart, but to select the speed you'll be using most.

What do you 2" slutz think ? I should probably get the 15 IPS tape, right ?

The previous studio who had my 2" machine had a 30 IPS tape.

Does it really matter ? Man, I never dreamed going 2" would be this frickin complex!
