You guys know how to make a mic choice hard!

It's getting close to upgrade time from my Rode K2 (maybe another few months).

With just under $2000 to spend you make it damn difficult to choice a mic, as way to many get recommended here!

I mostly record male modern rock vocalists (think anberlin, saosin)

I've narrowed my choices down to
1. Pearlman tm-1
2. Peluso 22 47LE
3. LAwson L47 mkII
4. Telefunken AK47

Unfortunatly being in Melbourne, Australia makes it damn hard to try out mics

Does anyone out there have these mics and that modern rock voice to throw up a few demos for me.



Why do i have to live in a time when i'm spoiled with so many choices
Atleast my next Pre amp purchuse is set...Pacifica.

Yep, those seem to be the primary contenders in that price range. From reading and sound clips only, my impression is that the Lawson is a little ahead of the others fidelity wise. That's a pretty general statement to make, however, becasue it depends upon the application and the specifics of the application, like how would it sound on your voice.

I'm sure owners of these mic's will chime in, I'm especially interested to hear from Lawson owners, although Pearlman owners tend to make those mic's sound liike they're stellar. But isn't the Pearlman essentially a customized Peluso? I could be way off there, just remembering something I read.
