Stereo Signal Path for FLAGRANT vocal overdubs. Advice?

Great forum ya'll have got here.

I'm putting together a signal path meant to handle professional tracking of voices and overdubs with a focus on vocal harmonies. My first project will be a self-recorded a-capella solo album featuring up to 24 tracks of my (baritenor) voice.

Seeing as any sonic foibles will be amplified two dozen times, I'd like a path that compliments my (slightly dark) voice well. Here's what I had originally thought:

Various Mics (AT4050 currently)
True P2Analog Pre
Apogee Ensemble for ADC
(I track to digital performer on my Mac... or is Logic necessary for the Ensemble?)

Here are the questions:

1) Can anyone lead me to a 2-CH preamp/ADC combo in a similar price range better suited to my project?

2)How good do the Apogee pres sound on their own?

3)Anyone have experience in a similar project you'd be willing to talk about in the right thread?

While I don't do a-capella work very often, I do record vocals on a pretty regular basis. A few years ago I got to talking with Dan Kennedy of Great River Electronics about building a pre-amp that could work as the only pre on a project and would stack beautifully. After about a year and change of sending the unit back and forth we came to a meeting of the minds and the Great River MP-2NV was born... followed by it's one channel cousin the ME-1NV.

Here's a link to the story behind the design of the unit.

Hope this is of some assistance... best of luck with your search.

Other option

Welcome to the forum...

I'm selling a AMS Neve 1073 DPD... It's two channels of pre, plus 2 channels of a/d conversion... It will do an amazing job at what you're trying to do... You can do a search on the unit.... Many people love it... and prefer it converters over well know accepted ones.....

No pressure... Just another option.... Even if i wasn't selling mine i would have suggested it is this situation... Excellent for vocals...

Pricing

Is there an easy way to communicate the price of the Neve AMS unit to me? (Not sure of protocol on here...)
