High End Keyboard Showdown: Korg Oasys vs. Open Labs Neko LX!

It's a shame to say it but some people will come to/use a studio just because it 'has' certain equipment whether they use it, or know how to use it, or not. But, long story short, which of these two keyboards do you think tops the other, & which do you see more of in high end studios. I've seen(in a studio that's generated Grammy level product), & played the Oasys. The Neko I've not gotten my hands on because no dealer yet exist in my area(& that's funny because 'Timbaland'(Neko Endorser) is from, & sometimes works in the same turf as I do). Guitar Center Pro in New York has the Neko's but not the one I purchase from in Virginia Beach, VA to my present knowledge(what's up with that). Opinions anybody?

I shouldn't even be chiming in because I haven't heard the Neko but I own the Oasys. The Neko would have to be some kind of monster piece to be better than the Korg. This thing is amazing! All styles of music can be created with this one ax. You could really buy only the Oasys and do all you need to do musically. From song production to score to pic in many, many different musical genres. Buy it - you're done. The Neko would have to be a pretty darn potent synth to one up the Oasys.

You know, the Oasys has been out for some time now- still haven't heard too much feedback about it. It's got me curious for sure but $8G? I'd like to hear some more opinions before I go try one out- I'm always a bit scared to try out something so expensive because if I fall in love...well, you guys know how that can turn out.

Played around with it at the store a couple times. So far I have to say that the Korg Oasys would be the oasis of my studio and any other studio hands down.
I definitely have to rework my studio budget for this year or sell off a few dead-weight pieces of gear and slip that bad boy in there some how....

To audition what the Neko sounds like is no problem at all since it is "just" a PC in a fancy case. Just download demoes of VSTis and try for yourself.Assuming you have a PC of course. For the full experience get a M-Audio 1010 soundcard 'cause that's what's in a Neko.

The Oasys wins here. KARMA alone is just something special.

Now if only a Oasys was updated with the newly invented M3 functionality it would just blow any synth existing out of this world.

Still, myself I would like the Oasys to have a hardware update as well, so a Oasys 2 with: SATA/FW/multi USB connections, full 100 mm faders, no more CD writer (we can use a computer to burn stuff), mouse & VGA/HD connection for connecting a large screen and mouse for operation, drum track knob etc.

Yep, that's what I'm waiting for (SATA drive is actually a killer these days, I just can't see the reason to buy anything that still uses PATA). A price drop would be nice, but they are lightly available for <$5k on the used market.

Alot of good responses about the Oasys. But, I'm surprised at the number of people who have had access to an Oasys that have not had access to, or tried the Neko.
