Yay! Send me one! Also, for anyone interested, I made a handy comparison chart for the CM7 & CM7-GT on my website. It's accessible via the home page |

Looks AWESOME!
Wanted to know if this is the final power supply the mic will be shipped with because i have seen an older pic of the CM7 GT where a different PSU was pictured.

I've just been evaluating a CM7, lovely beyond a doubt, so I can't wait to hear A/B reports: CM7 v. CM7-GT. Anyone yet?

Apparently, that's the newest PS that will be shipped with the mic...

thanks , I've missed that one...
not putting much weight to an mp3 "test" downloaded from the web, though GT sounds definitely smaller there...

See - I don't think it sounds "definitely" smaller...

I find it a bit grainier...though I'd love to compare to Peluso or Lawson. The GT version still seem ballbark quality wise overall with the CM7.

it sure has a family sound, I like the way it renders sibilance, but full-deal CM7 in this particular sample has something more, it feels more extended downwards and that makes the size and smoothes the highs ... maybe it's a bad example, but it is like with CMV563 vs UM57, where CMV has body and smoother character, while UM57 is more midrangey with less body and less smooth highs and CMV is not always the best choice out of those two.
Anyway I'm just commenting what I've heard in those mp3s and it is not a mic judgement by any stretch |

I hear a small difference, some difference would be expected - they're two different mic's, and the GT is $2000 cheaper. But it's a very small difference that takes repeated listening to hear it. I also don't get the comments citing a big diffference.
Time will tell after more people get the mic and compare it. If Mike's real happy with the mic that says a lot IMO. He certainly doesn't strike me as a snake oil salesman .

Not so much smaller as I would say thinner. I thought it was definately noticeable. But I wouldn't put too much stock on those files. No disrespect intended, but I thought both files were missing something that I have come to expect from a great mic.
Gotto get them in the studio to hear them for real.

When I heard the CM7-GT sample, I somehow associated it with the UM70S - don´t know why...
Would love to hear a side by side comparison between those though.
