Cranesong Spider or Mytek Advice! Spiders Users

Hello, hope this hasn't been beaten to death.
Situation is as follows. I've upgraded from PT Mix Plus with D8B to HD 3. Here's my partial equipment list:

PT HD3
192 i/o
Mytek A/D (into 192 via AES)
2 X Vintech X73
2 X Ba 660
1 X Chandler TG2
2 X Distressors

All of a sudden, with the D8B gone I'm left without the extra preamps.
Is it wise to sell the Mytek and just get the Spider ? That would give me 8 A/D plus 8 Mic Pres.
Am I going to miss my beloved Mytek?
Also is anybody using the Spider as a 2Buss Summing Mixer? I was leaning towards the Inward Connections SBM-2. Of course that would give me 16 insted of 8.
The other option would be to stay with Mytek and get a Neve 33421 (4 mic pres) and a pair of V72 and call it the day. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Not a spider owner (yet) - but it's gotta be the next purchase..!!!! or a BigBen.. or the AD/DA 16X convertors.... or...or ...or... (too many choices!!)
Setup wise - we're pretty close to yourselves.... (about to be an ex-D8b owner too!!!) At the moment - using an M3 Tubetracker & Various other preamps but the spider looks to be a winner..... also check out
******//www.infinitesound.com/P8.htm - haven't heard/tried one yet - another dude recommended it as an equivalent front end..... (analogue out only tho...)

Yep.

It's a great 'flavour' to have alongside your cranesong. CS make excellent convertors though, hard choice.

I love my spider man. And I've used it for summing a bit. Best bang for the buck..and usually those are hard to find in the high quality high doilar arena. Definitely get one. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT..and you won't miss the mytek.. cranesong spider converters are in the same ballpark sonically. And the spider sounds AWESOME!

peace
