Hmm, never had to deal with 7.1. Can you use MTR7/8 for the other two channels, just a guess.
Monitoring out of the 6 outs right now. And there's only those six (surround) outs - Ugh!
7 & 8 show up (meters play) when assigned, but no provision to dynamically pan anything going into them. Kind of like either on or off only. I gotta be missing something.
What about the stereo bus, that's still active when the console is switched to 5.1, right? Can you use that for channel 7/8? Panning will be a bit tricky, but it should be possible. I am not in front of the console, but can't MTR 7/8 be assigned to a physical output when in surround or are they just switched off. Are you working in 96K? I see where the monitoring would be a problem, you would have to use an external box for that (rent?)
I hope I'm not going to have troubles with the administrator but want to really know what happened after the last post. Here the same console and the 7.1 issue.
