the 1st thing i asked casey to put up at AES was the plate. sold me immediately. i have a 480L too, love it, but it's a different beast.

the plate on the bricasti just so reminded me of the real ones we had in the 80s.

480L to me is for when you want to hear the effect. bricasti is for when you don't. both great in their own right.

still waiting to get the bricasti from the mexican dealer.

But they use ADI DSP's, not TI, according to their web site.

And that would be an excellent guess! But...

You would be wrong!

The Ti is for a great friend Tim, who worked with us while Kurzweil was going through a protracted change of ownership. He has been back there now for a couple of years, probably coming up with some great new products for Kurzweil.

i'm 56. when i was real young there was a band by that name.

dino (dean martin's son), desi (desi arnaz' son) and billy (the only kid with non famous parents; he ended up playing with the beach boys). they were pretty good for their age. played some good tunes.

BTW i'm a bigger fool than you!

The presets on the bricasti are very useful & musical.

This is a cool one, kick chamber,

This is a little of it on some drum samples, it placed the kick nicely behind in the mix,

J[Just get 2 pcm91's and you can get rid of all of the others.quote=theother;1326837]Sold my KSP8 too. Wasn't very impressed with the reverb. An Eventide is head an shoulders above the KSP, easier to operate and sounds way better.

I'm getting the M7 soon. Curious how it is...

I don't want it to be a 480. I already have one. I want something new, with lots of character and good quality.

I'm a bit of a reverb slut.... 480L, SREV1, Dynatron 255, SRV2000, PCM70, R880, Dynacord DRP20X, H8000FW, Eventide 2016, Sony R7, Demeter Spring, UAD-1 EMT, AltiVerb, IK CSR, selfmade samples for my SREV1 of Lex 224, AMS RMX16, Quantec, Klark Teknik, EMT plates, Sony 777 library...

Ok... I know... I need help.[/quote]

Just my opinion FYI, the M7 is best at natural sounds, has great plates, and blends well (near and far reverb adjustment) ... also has the potential for great density. 'Character' is not the word that comes to mind, however it can do modulation, if you tweak the parameter.

I should have my pcm 96 next week but why do a shoot? 2 different verbs. use one on day 1 and the other on day 2....they are going to sound different from each other I'm sure. I want both

Not, that's actually a quote from an earlier post of mine. Just wondering why he quoted me.

All he added was:
Quote:
[Just get 2 pcm91's and you can get rid of all of the others.
...followed by my post.

I think I figured it out...

He wants me to get rid of all my reverbs and get 2x PCM91! Now why would I do such a thing?!

I played with it at Namm, it sounded like the same old Lex stuff, 480 like. I didn't care for it. I bought the Bricasti. Me happy.
