| Lives for gear | a different AC cord question
Do all of you traveling European engineers have to carry different AC cables for your gear to fit into the different sockets in each country? I've only ever rented gear when abroad and never brought my own, so it wasn't an issue. This may be changing though.

30 views and know one knows the answer? Jules, help me out here. Are the plugs different in Germany than the UK? Are there adapters?

for australia and europe, i get a transformer for some non switching power supplies. Then when I arrive, I just go to a discount electronic store and buy however many IEC cables, I don't even bring mine over. They aren't expensive, and it's so much easier than buying adapters, which are actually more expensive. Or you can convert a power strip, or a combination... And not bringing electric cords cuts down on weight as well for checking gear.
