distressors on rock vocal? opinions

anybody with any hands on experience using distressors on rock vocals are they good?

Don't overdo it but with the right touch - nothing touches it. It can be awesome - just right for rock.

I've had no complaints from singers when I have used it on they're vocals. I'd say I use it probably 60% of the time while tracking and then something else on mixing.

Love it on tracking rock vocals. Then the Chandler TG-1 (or the plug-in) on the vocal in the mix, great combination.

Love chaining two together... the first one at 3:1 medium attack, medium release... the seocnd one at 6:1 faster attack slower release... 3 or db of gain reduction on each.

Net result, something that is heavily compressed but doesn't sound heavily compressed

in the mix I absolutely overdo it, but then I thought that anything worth doing is worth overdoing ;-)

hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There has been about one record in the last 40 I have done where the Distressor did not kick ass on lead vocal.
