Adam S2A vs genelecs

Is there a dramatic difference between the Adam S2A's and Genelecs 1030A's?
I have also heard the only Adam to get is the S3A's. Is this true?

not sure one sounds dramatically better than the other to me, but i find S2A's way less fatiguing in the long haul.

i'd get all the speaker you can afford

The S2-A is much more comparable spec-wise to the 1031A than it is to the 1030A - the S1-A is the one that's 1030A-sized.

While the S3-A is definitely the most popular model in the US, we sell quite a few of many of the other models as well.

the s3a has two woofers which work complementary. one woofer covers a wider range, the second one only covers the lows. so they help each other out.

i heard an audiophile speaker setup using this same approach recently, and the bass was what i would call perfect. it was fast, tight, musical, went down plenty low enough, the low tones were pitched rather than being a blob of low sound. the upper lows were clear, the balance was great. i'm now hooked on this shared-responsibility woofer thing now. it's probably way better than a giant 15" woofer because the two smaller tandem woofers can act faster. i'm not an electronics guru, but that's my guess.

so with the s2a you are not getting this shared architecture. i haven't heard the s2a or the s3a, but i'm zeroing in on the s3a, and a big reason is this shared woofer thing.

i love how these electronics people figure all of this stuff out for us!
