Thread Starter | UM57 power supply - what tube?
I need to replace the tube inside the original power supply for my Neumann Gefell UM57, but it is unmarked. Does anyone know what type of tube / valve this is? Any help greatly appreciated! |

Sorry... I meant to add that the power supply model is UN61. PLEASE PLEASE can someone open theirs up and have a look??!!  |

Just e-mail the repair department at Microtech Gefell. They are very helpful, nice and make you feel like your vintage mic still has a warranty. My 50+ years old M7 capsule is there right now getting reskinned. Great, great company with fantastic service. If your PSU is totally smoked there are new ones made for Neumann/Gefells by several manufacturers. Tubelife is one. |

or you can send your psu to experts like drefahl, grosser... I have tubelife2... nice piece, but I recently saw that it is out of production, so if you like it you'd better hurry. |

That tube is either a 120v or 180v regulator, kinda like a tube zener diode. You can actually replace it with some zeners if you know what youre doing. There used to be a circuit floating around on the web for that PSU but I cant seem to find it any more... M@ |
