Looking for top quality Mic preamps

Could anyone point me in the direction of some high quality producers of Microphone pre-amps, compressors and equalizers?

Cheers.

Yeah, but wait. This is probably Joni Mitchell's first post. Be nice.

Millennia, GML, Neve, uh, . . . uh. Yeah, do a search.

API, Great River,

I have a Presonus ADL600 and love it.

What are you looking to record? Do you want a decent all around preamp? How much do you want to spend? What other gear do you have?

Buy a Great River MP2NV and an API 3124 for a rockin' good start in preamp world. You will find much to endorse and little, if anything, to disparage these 2 pieces. This would be as mistake-free as a purchase could possibly be in audio..

Cheers!

Thanks very much for all the replies and just want to apologise for double posting the thread!

I'm not actually recording, It's a university project which requires me to create a vocal pathway with a minimum spend of £6000, so I'm just trying to get some ideas of where best to look for the equipment.

Thanks again!

Joni
