I'm a bit confused. Your blog indicates that you were restoring an old broadcast Neve console, now you're saying that you will take delivery on a board from VK? Did you give up on the restoration project?

Hi,

Yes I was attempting to restore a frame that I picked up, but in the end, a number of conditions prevented me from completing the project.

I really thought long and hard about it. It would have taken way too much modification and restoration to bring the frame up to scratch. It was originally an On Air board for RTE Radio that incorporated a huge talkback matrix. It was a 20 channel frame and had no returns. The input modules (1073) were stripped and sold long ago by the previous owner.

I did strip a bunch of 1276 and 1277 modules from it. The 1276 modules I converted to mic pres and the 77s will one day become the same once I get round to buying some output transformers for them.

In the end, Blake Devitt from the UK came over and stripped what was left into a few boxes. I think he plans to build a couple of side cars from it.
