Thread Starter | Lynx Aurora with FW card
Anyone using the FW card with the Auroras? Just curious as to how well they do in comparison to the AES card. Im inbetween computers at the moment and was thinking this way could work since Im not sure if Im going to a new MacPro or a new PC. Using a Mac G4 DUAL 1.42 now, shes old I know |

I had a couple of short conversations with Lynx about the FW card Thurs and Friday, and they are still currently in Beta with the FW option. They would rather delay full release and come out with a strong 'plug and play' capability, than have any non fully working units. Originally it was slated for late April release, but right now no date is set from what I can see (I won't speak for them but it's obviously in the later stages of development though). But, I'm glad they are going about it this way, it's a good design ethic and is definitely better late than having a lot of frustrated customers.

Gosh! I cant wait for the FW option. I would very much like to record to my laptop. I really need this for my Aurora 8 i bought from Nathan at Atlas Pro Audio. I have the optical card...but so far have not even used the unit b/c my system is jacked. It is no fun and I could only afford 1 new computer and it was a dual core laptop. Getting audio into the laptop from the lynx requires another x amount of dollars from using a different interface that has adat inputs for the lynx and a laptop pci card.. like an rme product. Well at least it looks pretty. Im sure it sounds nice. Peace Todd |
