Not tried radar but LOVE the Prism Dream converters. Not heard better, they say it benefits from their clocking technology, jitter rejection etc.
The Orpheus is going to have even better converters as the myth goes.

The Prism Dream Converters are better than the ones found in the ADA-8XR.

The Orpheus is supposed use the same converters as the ADA-8XR.

I am positive the orpheus converters are different and will perform better. The ADA 8 channel interfaces do have different converters than the 2 channel converters

The Orpheus is a ground up fresh design and is testing very positively.

Does anybody know which "chips" have Prism and Radar (AKM, Cirrus, Burr Brown,...) and which models?

Yes I did yesterday.

The Radar sounded overally softer and less detailed than the Prism but still more detailed than a digi 192 clocked by big ben.

A +/- 5% difference.

I read someone from mercenary audio claiming on gs that the Radar sounds like tape
without the noise - which is complete bullshit.

Hi,
i've been recording an orchestra onto RADAR once, and a small band once, and i must admit - yes, it sounded like tape to me. It has a character, which PRISM (being better quality in terms of accuracy) lacks. I would prefer RADAR for multi tracking/mixing (and it's cheaper), and PRISM, which is unbeatable in clipping, for mastering.
