Thread Starter | It's that time of year: ADAM S3A positioning?
Well, the title kind of says it all... but just to spell it out: How are you positioning your S3A's? Vertically, horisontally, subs up/down? And while we're at it: Are we all on the 'dip-the-top-end and boost the-lo' trip or is anyone doing it differently? I'll go first: At the moment they're positioned horisontally and with a 2dB dip on the EQ switch BUT I am just about to try the horisontal positioning and possibly dip a little more whilst boosting the lo end a tad. |

Vertically, subs on top, ports on the inside. -2db >6.

I posted a whole essay on this here a couple weeks ago. Positioning ADAM S3A's I have mine horizontal, subs out, but I would be better off vertical, subs furthest away from ear level, ports outside. (The placement of the ports is what I'm most uncertain of...but I think they ought to be farther away than nearer and summing. While having them closer together might boost bass a bit, it might also boost turbulence noise...) |

Sorry about that Peeder - somehow I missed that one. Very interesting read. I'm still curious to hear what other S3A users are doing right now. I've got the impression that we've all changed these things round a bit from time to time and a bit of inspiration is always good. |

Since adding the Sub-10 Ive had mine vertical with subs on top. First few mixes have translated near enough perfect.

Horizontal, subs out, +2dB @ 150Hz. Had them vertical, but the bass is much better when they are horizontal, so it was no brainier. Imaging is very nice once I've finished my front wall, good records have almost holografic quality to them. |
