Contractor/Carpenter in L.A.

Hi everybody.
I need to hire a Contractor or Carpenter that has the knowledge and experience of working with big thick sound proof walls here in LA (west side even better).
I already know some people but they are incredibly
FLACKY
If any of you LA gearsluts know somebody reliable,
please contact me.
My email is:
vibeshop@comcast.net

Thank you all.

I just posted this same thing a couple days ago and didn't get many hits... seems nobody has done much of this around here...

If I find someone good I'll let you know... what sort of thing are you building? I'm doing a tiny little CR/Vocal booth thing in my garage.

I need to enlarge an already sound proof live room
and get AC installed as well. Also the floor needs to be redone.
Thanks for the reply.

have you tried contacting any of the room designers who have a lot of rooms in/around LA? maybe they wouldn't mind passing along some references (both bad and good)....good luck!

can't remember his name right now but there's a british guy who built most of Conway and builds retrofits rooms at the Village as well. Call Conway and ask.

I've heard nothing but good things about Guy Boulanger (310-484-3578). He did some interior work for my neighbors up the street and they told me that he shows up on time, does terrific work and is somewhat of an artisan - loves what he does. Apparently, his father and grandfather before him did contracting in this area and were also well respected. I am contracting him to build a garage/wood shop/tech bench/office for the wife/guest room/garden shed/studio at my house within the next sixty days.
I agree that most of the tradesmen/contractors in this area are flakier than a Costco-sized box of Raisin Bran. We've sent many of them off of our property quite unceremoniously.

Yeah, I know the guy because he worked here too,
but at that same time he was too busy doing the Village job. Needless to say he wasn't very reliable...some day he would show up, others he wouldn't. Obviously these people overbook their schedule and then take care of whatever is best for them totally disregarding previous commitment or, like the british guy, not properly completing the job.
Anyway, I guess calling a few of the studios is still a good idea.
Thanks everyone.
