Thread Starter | New control room - buildling pics!
Hi, I am a little embarrased to put this up, there are so many amazing studio build threads here. Anyway, here are some pics of our 24-hours control-room building session. I hope some of you find it useful. I was supposed to start doing the acoustic work a few weeks ago, but the building process took way more time than anticipated. What a big suprise.... I had already booked a session for 13. of march, thinking I had plenty of time. The construction work finished on the 12. of march, leaving us with a nice, floating room, silent HVAC, 3 drywalls, 1 concret wall and a floor with some kind of vinyl layer. Not a good place for critical listening.... The control room is small, about 20m2, so we decided to go for bass traps in the front and rear wall, and Helmholtz absorbers along the sides. I chose a hardwood floor because I was afraid the room would be too dead with all the absorption. Besides, I like the looks of hardwood floors ;-). We did the floors, walls, wiring and installation in 24 hours. I am happy to say that the control room sounds great! I really look forward to be working here. We have more wiring to do before the room is complete, but so far so good! Stein Tore

Hey Steins, why be embarrased. Looks nice, you've got some choice gear and guess what? It's all yours. |
