Should I buy an Atomic Squeezebox?

So I'm just wondering from people that have used this thing long enough to get over the hype -is it really something special?

I have a bunch of great comps already so perhaps you could compare it to any of these as a point of reference.

I'm wondering about the possibility of the mono or the stereo unit. Can anyone tell me it's the BEST stereo bus comp they've ever used?

possible uses:
Mono for vox, bass, percussion, acoustic gtr etc
Stereo for master bus, drums subs, vox subs etc

my comps: drawmer 1968, Thermionic Phoenix, Chandler TG1 (mastering version), Vari Mu, 1176 blackface, 1176 Steve Haselton custom, Summit TLA100, Fastso/Distressor, RCA Ba6a (love this on vox), dbx 160's, Gemini easyrider.

My projects range from rock, singer/songwriter, pop, some jazz. I make great efforts to record with the absolute best quality.

hei man. if you spend this amount of money, its worth contacting Fletcher (mercenary), Nathan (atlasproaudio), Tony Belmont or whoever feels responsible to deal with you and tell em to send one unit for testing purposes.

I dont own one, just read about it

cheers

I know, but why think when others can do it for me?

Actually what little free time I have right now is already taken with other listening tests, so this is exploratory to see if it's even worth having one of those dudes send me one to play with.

I would call Mercenary, regardless. Get one in your room. Other people's opinions don't mean shit. It doesn't have to be a one day listening test. You can keep it for a week or two and use it in real sessions.
