The API is a real Beauty! Here are some more rare pieces: 1 pic.: German Broadcast 24 channel tube console with V 72/V76 amps 2 pic. A friend's rebuilt Telefunken braodcast console with the choice of either Telefunken solid state line amps and summing amps or tube line and summing amps. |

Good thing this post is here, I needed another reason for gear lust. The api is killing me. I keep thinking, maybe I could afford it. There's got to be a way. I could sell a bunch of outboard, I wouldn't need it. I could sell my house, and live at the studio. hmmm. I'm working on it. |

Here's a very quick translation of the description on the site: ICC blackbird This console is one of only five ever made by International Custom Consoles and it's the only one outside USA. The console is totally modular and you can send most of the signals anywhere you want in it. It has 24 mic channels and 24 tape return channels, and also 9 stereo buses, but the console is so modular that you can use channels as AUX's and groups as channels, or why not channels as subgroups? The options are almost unlimited. Maybe you don't need all these options, but the console has other qualities. How about 24 Valley People Trans-amp mic preamps? 26 channels with the five-band EQ that later became the NightPro EQ. 24 gates, 26 limiters and Valley People Fadex faders? There is also a computer for automation with as much as 65 kB if you want to use that. Also 9 automation groups, a funny patch matrix and 3 round led meters per channel. And a lot, lot more. With its solid wood ends, hundreds of diodes and a weight of almost 1100 lbs it gives confidence. A very solid sound and the only console we have worked with that is COMPLETELY SILENT. With all the faders up we still can't hear any noise whatsoever. I must admit I thought it was a bit sexier before I read this... | |
