What compresser for taiko?

About to start on a soundtrack project with lots of taiko. What compressor would you recommend for the job? Both hardware and software?

Thanks.

I wouldn't compress in the analog domain. Once you go digital, start with whatever compressor comes with your DAW, and experiment with settings between 1.5:1 and 20:1.

It's basically impossible for any of us to answer your question without hearing the type of music you're making. You wouldn't compress Kodo the same way you'd compress taiko in Kitaro's music, for instance.
